Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of GeoRanks (“we”, “us”, “our”), including the country-ranking game (Classic, Top 10, VS and Daily Challenge modes) and optional GeoRanks Premium subscriptions (together, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1) Eligibility

You must be able to legally use the Service in your location. If you are under the legal age required to consent in your country, you must not use the Service.

2) Accounts & Sign-in

Most of the Service, including the Daily Challenge, can be played without creating an account. Creating an account (with an email address and password) lets you save progress, appear on leaderboards under a username, and subscribe to Premium.

3) The Ranking Game & Results

The core Service ranks countries across a range of categories (population, GDP, landmass, and more) in Classic, Top 10 and VS modes, plus a daily shared Challenge. Scores and leaderboard placements are based on ranking accuracy against the underlying dataset for each category.

Note: Category datasets are updated periodically and may not always reflect the most current real-world figures.

4) Premium Subscriptions

GeoRanks Premium unlocks the full set of ranking categories on a paid, auto-renewing subscription (billed monthly or yearly). Payments and subscription billing are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full payment card details. You can manage or cancel your subscription from your account at any time.

5) User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Impersonate others, create fraudulent accounts, or attempt to bypass verification systems.
• Abuse the Service (spam, harassment, hateful content, or disruptive behavior).
• Exploit bugs, automate participation, scrape data, or reverse engineer the Service.
• Upload or use content you don’t have the rights to (including avatars/images).

6) Intellectual Property

The Service, including branding, UI, code, and game mechanics are owned by GeoRanks or its licensors. You may not copy or distribute any part of the Service without written permission.

7) Third-Party Services

The Service integrates with third-party providers to operate: Supabase (accounts and data storage), Stripe (Premium payments), Plausible (privacy-friendly analytics), and Google AdSense (advertising). Your use of any third-party service is subject to that provider’s own terms and policies; we are not responsible for third-party services.

8) Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, or that the Service will meet your expectations.

9) Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GeoRanks will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.

10) Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or abused the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.

11) Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are significant, we’ll post the updated version on this page with a new effective date.
