This Privacy Policy explains how GeoRanks ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use geo-ranks.com, including the country-ranking game (Classic, Top 10, VS and Daily Challenge modes), optional account features, and Premium subscriptions ("Service").

1) Information We Collect

You can play the Daily Challenge as a guest without providing any personal information.

If you create an account, we collect and store:

Email address Username Password (managed by our authentication provider, Supabase — not visible to us in plain text) Timezone (used to personalize your daily reset time) Country code (optional — only if you choose to display a flag on your profile)

We also store gameplay and leaderboard data, such as:

Game scores and ranking results Premium / subscription status

If you subscribe to Premium, our payment processor (Stripe) handles your payment details directly; we store a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription record, not your card details.

2) How We Use Information

We use your information to:

Create and display your player profile and show you on leaderboards.
Prevent duplicate or fraudulent entries by linking activity to an account.
Process and manage Premium subscriptions.
Maintain the integrity and performance of the Service (security, debugging, abuse prevention).

If you claim a username, a public profile page becomes available showing your username, chosen country flag (if set) and earned badges.

3) What We Do NOT Collect

We do not sell your data or use it for targeted advertising.

4) Data Storage & Security

Account and gameplay data is stored with our database and authentication provider, Supabase. Payments are processed by Stripe. We take reasonable steps to protect data, but no system is 100% secure.

5) Sharing

We do not sell your data or share your account data with third parties for their own advertising. We share data with the service providers that operate the Service (Supabase, Stripe, Plausible), and with Google AdSense to the extent the Service displays advertising. We may also share data if required by law, or to protect the Service from fraud or abuse.

6) Your Choices

You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us at support@geo-ranks.com. Leaderboard and match records may remain as historical results unless deletion is required by applicable law.

7) Cookies / Local Storage

The Service uses cookies or local storage for session and UI purposes (for example, keeping you signed in). We use Plausible for website analytics, which does not use cookies to track individual visitors. The Service also loads Google AdSense, which may set its own cookies or use similar technologies to serve and measure advertising, as described in Google's own policies.

8) Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Updates will be posted here with a revised effective date.
